Casablanca Sahara 6-day tour, explore Merzouga in the desert, camel trekking in the dunes. See stunning landscapes and discover new places. You will be spoiled for choice on this 6-day Casablanca tour.
Arrive in Marrakech and visit Koutoubia Mosque, El Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Menara Gardens and Jemaa el-Fna. After the Red City tour, we will spend the night at our accommodation in Marrakech.
Depart Marrakech and cross the High Atlas at an altitude of 2260 m and arrive in Ait-Ben-Haddou, one hour visit to Ait-Ben-Haddou to see the village culture and beautiful scenery. The Ait Ben-Haddou ksar is a remarkable example of southern Moroccan architecture. The ksar is mainly a collection of residences and is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Center. After lunch the route crosses the valleys of Ouarzazate, Skouala and Bara to reach the Dades valley, the ‘Valley of 1000 Kasbahs’, where we will spend a magical evening.
Then visit the Dades Gorge and cross the Bomarne Dades to reach Merzouga. The Todra Gorge (300 m high) is located on the eastern side of the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco and is known as one of the most majestic gorges in the world. We then drive to Merzouga where we will be transferred by camel to a camp in the dunes, where we will spend the night in Berber tents among the golden sand dunes watching the spectacular sunset.
You will be woken up before sunrise to climb the dunes and take great photos. You will then return to your hotel, shower, have breakfast and set off for Fez. On the way the driver will stop for lunch in Erfoud, Errachidia, Ziz Valley and Midelt (when you arrive in Midelt if you are hungry).
Today you will visit Fez, the oldest imperial capital: the ancient capital ‘Fez el-Bali’ and its souks, the Qaraouine Mosque and the Medersa Attarine. You can also admire the fountain in Nejjarine Square. You can also visit a dye house and a leather tannery. Visit the new city “Fes el Jadid” and visit the Royal Palace (open air) and the Potters’ Quarter. Then spend the night in your riad.
Today leaving Fes and drive to Casablanca, drop you off at your accommodation in Casablanca.
